At Facade Technologies, process is not bureaucracy it is the foundation of quality. Our seven-stage workflow has been developed and refined across hundreds of projects, ensuring that every decision is technically sound, every component is precisely manufactured, and every installation is executed to the highest standard. From the first technical brief to final handover, our teams work in close coordination eliminating the gaps between design intent and built outcome.
Every project begins with a thorough understanding of the architectural intent and the technical constraints that will shape the façade solution. At this stage, our team works directly with architects and design consultants to translate conceptual ideas into precise technical documentation. We define key parameters including system typology, material specifications, performance targets, geometric constraints, and interface requirements with the primary structure. This stage establishes the technical foundation for all subsequent work ensuring that every downstream decision is aligned with both the design vision and the project's performance requirements.
With the technical brief established, our design and engineering teams begin developing the façade system in parallel a collaborative workflow that brings together façade designers, structural engineers, BIM coordinators, R&D specialists, and site management from the outset. At this stage, we evaluate multiple system approaches, assess structural and thermal performance, and develop preliminary 3D models to test the design against the project's geometric and technical requirements. Where standard system solutions are insufficient, our R&D capability allows us to develop custom profiles, connection details, and assembly methods tailored to the specific demands of the project.
Once the preferred system approach is confirmed, our engineering team develops the façade solution in full technical detail. This stage encompasses structural engineering calculations, thermal performance analysis, wind load assessments, and seismic evaluations all carried out in accordance with applicable international standards and project-specific requirements. Advanced digital design tools and parametric modelling techniques allow us to resolve complex geometries with precision, ensuring that even the most demanding architectural forms can be engineered and manufactured to specification. All engineering outputs are subject to internal review and, where required, independent third-party verification.
Before any component enters full production, we build and test physical mock-ups — full-scale representations of the façade system that allow us to verify performance, assess buildability, and identify any refinements required prior to fabrication. Mock-up testing typically includes air permeability testing, water penetration resistance testing, wind resistance testing, and structural deflection verification, carried out in accredited test facilities in accordance with relevant European and international standards. Where bespoke extrusion profiles or cast components are required, tooling and dies are produced at this stage and validated through test pieces before mass production begins.
With system design and testing complete, our team produces the full suite of fabrication and installation documentation. Shop drawings are developed digitally within our ISO-certified quality management system, incorporating every dimension, tolerance, fixing detail, and assembly instruction required for precise, repeatable manufacture and installation. Each drawing set is coordinated against the wider BIM model, reviewed for constructability, and issued through a formal approval process involving the design team and contractor. Assembly procedures and method statements are developed in parallel, ensuring that site teams have clear, unambiguous guidance for every stage of the installation process.
Our manufacturing facilities operate under a rigorous quality management system that governs every stage of the production process from raw material receipt and dimensional verification through to surface treatment, component assembly, and pre-delivery inspection. In-line testing is conducted throughout production to verify dimensional accuracy, finish quality, and assembly integrity. Every batch of components is traceable back to certified material sources, and all finished goods are inspected against approved shop drawings before dispatch. Our production teams work to tight tolerances, supported by precision CNC machinery, automated cutting and processing equipment, and experienced quality control personnel.
Our installation teams and façade engineers for every project, we prepare bespoke installation method statements, risk assessments, and quality and safety plans that are tailored to the specific conditions, geometry, and programme requirements of the site. Installation is carried out in strict sequence, with ongoing quality checks at each stage.
